What's a "Tweetup"?

The word Tweetup is an amalgamation of the words "Twitter" and "Meetup". It's a social event organized through Twitter and other social media outlets such as Facebook. Our slogan is "Putting the Social in Social Networking". The event is a networking get-together, a social event, a good time meeting new people, and connecting with old friends/followers.

It's Fredericton's Favorite Networking Party.

And it's free. There's probably gonna be free food. There are tons of door prizes. Did we mention it's free admission?

Who should go? Anyone! It's not for the young folk, the old folk, the business folk, the musicians, the social media gurus, the politicians, the media, etc... It's for all of the above.

Do I have to be on Twitter to go?

Not at all. We don't just stand around talking about Twitter. It's an actual live social event, where people chat about hockey, music, politics, jobs, tech and the usual stuff. There's probably some weirdo who just brought up the Kardashians. It's just normal people, talking about stuff, having a drink, eating some munchies and listening to a tune or two.

But I hardly use Twitter.

So? (oh, by the way.. we're also on Facebook and Google+)

How do I RSVP? It's confusing.

The easiest way is to Click the "Count Me In" button and then just click "RSVP with Twitter", which allows you to use your Twitter account. You don't need to do anything else. We've been using Twtvite.com since 2009, with no security issues. We trust them.

Why should I RSVP?
1. All Door Prizes will now be drawn only from our list of RSVPs. That's right, no more numbered tickets.. (yay!)
2. Because it's a huge help to us in planning for how many people will be there. Really, if you love us.. you'll RSVP.
How do I un-RSVP myself?

Click on the "Count me In" button again. If you are not already logged into twtvite.com, click on "Need to update your RSVP?". Once logged in, change your RSVP number to "0", then click "Update".
